We offer you an unforgettable retreat with a fantastic nature to explore, everywhere around you. Asterholma is a small island with only seven inhabitants in the Finnish archipelago called Åland.
The holiday village is a small family business that started in the year of 1991.Today our hosts welcome you and make your stay with us at its best.
6 modern holiday cottages - also for longer periods
The kitchen in our cottages is combined with the living room that also has a indoor fireplace. They are suitable for four people but it's also possible be up to six residents. There's two bedrooms one being larger and has a small queen size bed. The smaller room has a double bed (bunk bed). There also a shower and a sauna. Broadband available. Outside you'll find a smaller terrace with outdoor furniture. In the village there’s a playground for the smaller ones, with a swing and a playhouse.The location of cottages is seaside and some come with a full sea view. For those who prefer a longer vacation we rent cottages for weeks, months or even full year.
Order breakfast to your refrigerator in advance for an even more pleasant start of your vacation.
Activities or relaxation
Close by on the smooth cliffs just on the edge of the holiday village there’s a sauna and a water trampoline. In roughly 200 meters you also find a small beach that suits younger children. Near the water in the holiday village you'll find a smoke-oven to prepare the fish but also a larger outdoor barbecue that got a fantastic view where you can look at the sunset.
To explore the island we suggest you borrow one of our "old" bikes. If the wonderful nature and islands in the archipelago is your goal you can rent a boat. There’s also plenty of fishing water and permits are available for purchase. Depending on the season we also offer seal safaris, guided fishing tours, a visit to the sheep farm on the next island or a friendly pentathlon. You can also go on a prepared hiking trails that are 2,5(1,3 miles) kilometers and 3,5(2,2 miles) kilometers. You'll find amazing scenery following the trails that take you near water and over rocks.
How to get here
Our island can be reached with car using a system of ferries from the Finnish city Turku in roughly two hours. The island is also reachable from Sweden via Ålandstrafiken ferry systems.
