Asterholma holiday village

The holiday village is a small family business that started in the year of 1991. We can offer you a unforgettable retreat with a fantastic nature to explore. Asterholma is a small island in the Finnish archipelago called Åland. The island is located in the north east part of the archipelago and can be reached with car using a system of ferries from the Finnish city Turku in roughly two hours. The island is also reachable from Sweden. The holiday village has six modern well-equipped three-room holiday cottages suitable for four people but it's also possible be up to six residents. A smaller indoor renovation was performed during 2009.

The kitchen is combined with the living room that also has a indoor fireplace. There's two bedrooms one being larger and has a small queen size bed. The smaller room has a double bed (bunk bed). There also a shower and a sauna. Outside you'll find a smaller terrace with outdoor furniture. The holiday village has few smaller barbecue grills available but also a large outdoor barbecue site. The location of cottages is seaside and some come with a full sea view.

Activities

to explore the wonderful nature and islands in the archipelago you can rent a boat. There’s also plenty of fishing water and permits are available for purchase. Near the water in the holiday village you'll find a smoke-oven to prepare the fish but also larger outdoor barbecue who got a fantastic view where you can look at the sunset. There also plans for the summer season 2010 that a beach sauna will be built. The sauna will have a wood stove for the best experience.

In the village there’s also a playground for the smaller ones. There's a swing and a playhouse.

In roughly 200 meters you also find a small beach that suits younger children.

For larger ones there’s a water trampoline close by on the smooth cliffs just on the edge of the holiday village. You can also go on a prepared hiking trails that are 2,5(1,3 miles) kilometers and 3,5(2,2 miles) kilometers. You'll find amazing scenery following the trails that take you near water and over rocks. We also have a few old cycles (adults-sized) free to use.
