Recycling and reuse enable Emmaus Åland to create jobs and employment for everyone regardless of background and needs. At Emmaus everyone gets to work according to their capabilities and to develop on their own terms in an inspiring and encouraging work environment.
Emmaus is a politically and religiously independent movement with the objective of helping those in need and thereby promoting justice and peace. There are about 300 Emmaus groups in 36 countries around the world. Emmaus Åland's surplus goes to international aid.
Emmaus Åland reduces waste in our community by means of recycling and reuse, and by disseminating information and influencing public opinion. Emmaus gives goods a longer life or a new life, which means that the burden that waste and new production place on the environment is reduced.
