Sampling and nature experiences

This is a two day tour through the Åland landscape. The adventure includes Ålands Bryggeri, Getabergen, Soltuna Restaurant & Café, Skarpnåtö Homestead farm, Sålis battery and Åland's Fire Brigade museum.

Recommended time period: June 15th to August 20th, due to the bicycle ferries.

Day 1

The route begins at the youth hostel Vågen in Godby, From here you start by cycling north along main road 4 towards Geta. A great stop along the way is Ålands Bryggeri where you can take a guided tour or just sample the Åland-made Stallhagen beer in the brewery pub.

Then you continue towards Getabergen where you can stay in an overnight cabin in Soltuna. Here is also Soltuna café and restaurant with a view across Norrhavet. Don't miss a walk along the trail to the cave in Geta, "Getagrottan".

Day 2

The next day you cycle toward the bicycle ferry Silvana in Hällö. Buy a picnic lunch in the small grocer's "Getaboden". The bicycle ferry takes you to Skarpnåtö in Hammarland. Visit Skarpnåtö Homestead Museum and its handicraft shop before you continue.

The road to the youth hostel in Godby passes by the Sålis battery where there is a short nature trail and a lookout tower. Also the Åland Fire Brigade Museum in a farm environment and its small café Klara are part of the experiences along the way. Continue your journey past Gölby to Godby.
