Crayfish premiere in Åland is as early as 21 July. Several restaurants have crayfish on their menus from that day and there are crayfish parties all around Åland. The public is also welcome to book a place for premiere day on the island of Silverskär.

In the summertime the Eastern Harbour teems with life. On a regular evening thousands of people will visit the area to eat, drink and, a bit later, dance till dawn.

Hot nights, ice-cold drinks and heavy bass. In the summertime Åland’s outdoor venues are packed with partygoers. Everything from pop, rock, house, R&B and the latest from Europe’s club scene is played on the dance floors.

Entertainment is a little quieter in the Western Harbour compared to the Eastern Harbour. But the outdoor sections of restaurants and bars in the evening sun attract both tourists and Ålanders.

After four successful festivals, the award-winning Island in the Sun has positioned itself among Åland’s sunny summer events. This year we will celebrate our 5th anniversary with many surprises.

Mariehavn buzzes in the summertime. But don't think for a minute that Åland is sleepy in the winter. Several places in Åland lay on live music all year round.

A new Åland festival will premiere on 14 July: Degerby Jazz & Blues. The festival, which is held in the archipelago harbour of Degerby, provides food, drink and the sound of swing jazz and blues.
