Hiking

Åland is a fabulous island to discover on foot. There are close to 30 different nature trails and long-distance footpaths around Åland, all with varying natural surroundings and of different length and degree of difficulty. The Prästö nature trail is one of the more popular ones. In addition to a beautiful natural landscape you also get to experience a large helping of Åland history.

The Järsö Route is 28 km of easy to travel archipelago road reaching across the beautiful small bridges to Järsö where the sea has a rich birdlife.

Åland is now offering a 63 kilometre long hiking trail through the parishes of Hammarland and Finström with a final destination in Geta, for those that appreciate long hikes in diversified nature.

The Lemland hiking trail is a new, more than 20 kilometre long, hiking trail on Åland, Finland.

Castle, church, fortress, hills and views

The views change every kilometre. Forests and rugged terrains are followed by meadows and a cultural landscape. The sea is always present.
