Come and enjoy well prepared food with a taste of the archipelago at the fine restaurants in the island world. A visit to a restaurant in Åland is always an experience. The good food, the atmosphere and environment are also a great deal of the charm.

You'll find many cosy and fine restaurants centrally in Mariehamn, but don't forget the restaurants in the countryside and among the islands in the archipelago. Here the view is part of the experience.

In the summer the restaurants open their outdoor serving areas, where you can sit outside and enjoy, often with a sea view.

An alternative for everyone
Among the different restaurants in Åland there are alternatives for both the epicure as well as for the family with children; from delicious á la carte with selected wines to square home cooked meals and good family pizzas. The closeness to the sea also makes sure that there will be fish on the menu.

The restaurants serve lunch every weekday from 11am - 2pm and á la carte in evenings and on weekends. Some restaurants also offer a cheaper bar and bistro menu.

The legendary sail pavilion, that was designed by Lars Sonck, is one of Åland's most popular watering holes in the summer. The restaurant is well known for its high quality and is an important integral part of the ÅSS guest harbour.

Åland's World Tour Beach Volley Championship – the PAF Open – with 380,000 US dollars in prize money is going to be an absolutely world-class competitive event this year. The competition will be decided at the Arkipelag Arena in central Mariehamn from 18 to 22 August. The American Olympic gold medal winners Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers have confirmed that they will be coming, as have the Brazilian world number ones Larissa and Juliana. Nearly 11,000 tickets have been sold in advance and the PAF Open's Enterprise Day with Lars-Johan Jarnheimer and Risto E.J. Penttilä has attracted about 300 visitors.
