The Harvest Festival weekend is the great experience of autumn. In three pleasant days, September 17-19th, the festival acknowledges all good things in life through experiences and enjoyment for all senses.

Märket is situated in the Åland Sea, at the border of Finland and Sweden. At this small island the border in between the two countries was drawn in 1809 and in 1982 the line was measured out again, the three lighthouse buildings on the island are on the Finnish side.

A beautiful view across the Åland Sea and a historically interesting environment makes the island Kobba Klintar, by the inlet to Mariehamn's western harbour, a popular excursion destination.

Åland's World Tour Beach Volley Championship – the PAF Open – with 380,000 US dollars in prize money is going to be an absolutely world-class competitive event this year. The competition will be decided at the Arkipelag Arena in central Mariehamn from 18 to 22 August. The American Olympic gold medal winners Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers have confirmed that they will be coming, as have the Brazilian world number ones Larissa and Juliana. Nearly 11,000 tickets have been sold in advance and the PAF Open's Enterprise Day with Lars-Johan Jarnheimer and Risto E.J. Penttilä has attracted about 300 visitors.

In the new Alandica Kultur och Kongress there are modern premises and conference technologies in an inspiring environment for all types of arrangements. The building will be finished in spring – centrally in the Nordic countries, centrally in Mariehamn, centrally in a park by the water.
