Stallhagen is the only brewery in Åland. The microbrewery has already reached a great success in Finland and Sweden by winning several awards in beer contests. Slow beer is the basic concept for beer production. The slow beer concept is based on slow food philosophy – in other words, the brewering process may take its time. Beer is stored as long as it is necessary to create the natural carbonic acid and the round and well-developed taste.

The local crafts association, Ålands slöjd- och konsthantverksförening, presents a new summer exhibition 2,8KM FORM in 2013. – We wish to give the visitor a new kind of experience and something more than an ordinary exhibition, says Hanna Wiik-Rosenqvist, head for the Crafts Association.

Visit Åland arranges a photo contest with focus on food & drink in co-operation with the new Nordic food project ”Ny Nordisk Mat Åland”. The aim with the competition is to create a broader picture of the Ålandic gastronomy and to document the gastronomic region.

Between 23th and 29th of June, Åland’s oldest annual music event takes place. This year’s Åland Organ Festival is the 39th in a row and starts the local cultural summer. The Festival offers highclass concerts with both national and international artists from Finland, Sweden, Norway, France, Moldova, Poland and Spain.
