Colourful design
A visit to the old dairy in the heart of Mariehamn is always an experience. Judys pottery shines with joy with it's unique wheel-thrown ceramics, hand painted in her own designs.
Here you find the owner Judy Kuitunen working on her potters wheel.
Judy has been working on Åland since 1978. Her production consists of wheel-thrown functional ware decorated with coloured slips under transparent or matte glazes. Commissioned pieces by Judy are found in the homes of many prominent people, including the Finnish president Tarja Halonen. Judy is of current interest with her own postage stamp for the Åland Post.
