
Eckerö Mail & Custom's House
One of the most peculiar historical buildings from the Russian times in Finland can be found on Åland's westernmost outpost at the sea. The building is from 1828 and was drawn by the architects C.L. Café Lugn & Ro
The home-made coffee and home-baked goods of the guest house guarantees high quality. The aroma of our freshly baked goods is already renowned. A fresh salad, home-baked bread, pies and a mouth watering dessert combined with a splendid view across the Åland Sea is sure to make the day an experience.
Mercedes’ chocholate pralines. Mercedes makes her delicious chocolate pralines in the kitchen of Café Lugn & Ro and they are sold as tidbits with a cup of coffee. You may also buy a chocolate box filled with your favourite pralines. The classy gift boxes come in different sizes, from 2 to 30 delicious chocolate pralines.

The rooms
We have 13 fresh rooms in pleasant colours. You may choose between single or double rooms but also three of four bedrooms. The rooms in the historical building are of guest house standard with toilets in the corridor and a TV lounge. The building is two storey and many of the rooms are facing the sea. The shower and sauna department is located in the wing which also contains a sitting room with TV and a pantry for a cup of afternoon tea and a refrigerator.

What we offer
Excellent possibilities for groups, workshops, conferences, choir practising, family feasts, etc. This is a great place to concentrate while you gain inspiration from the surrounding nature. Day trips are arranged by prior agreements. We rent bicycles and helmets, also for children. We offer spacious and clean saunas. Ask for an offer.
Summer
Unforgettable memories! Sit below the Mail House, on the smooth rocks still warm from the sun, and experience a sunset in the sea - it will surely linger in your memory. Different types of activities in the summer are justa short distance away.
Winter
The guest house is open year round. Especially the Christmas market at Eckerö Mail & Custom's House has become popular, thanks to the high quality art handicrafts. The house has its own St. Nicholaus with the reindeer Rudolfus, to the delight of both children and adults.

Activities
Many celebrities have performed in the Court yard. The Finnish National Opera, the Folk Theatre, Robert Wells, Diggiloo etc. The Mail Route Race, across the Åland Sea, is an annual event. In the wing there is a genuine Mail Route Museum and the oldest Post Office in Finland, with a philately section. The Post office's gallery displays interesting exhibitions.
The Postmaster's Office - a post office in keeping with the Bomarsund's time, 1850's, is well worth a visit. Each year high class exhibitions with art, art handicrafts and history are on display. Some 20.000 visitors pay a visit every year. Well worth a visit.
