Australia, Cape Horn and stormy seas!
Feel the atmosphere walking on a half-deck with the wind in your back during a westerly half-gale. The figureheads from past time ships all have a different story to tell. Shipwreck, storms or an inglorious rejection end. Here are ship paintings from a time when the ships looked like ships and every captain ordered a portrait from the local artist, be it in Hull, Antwerp or Hong Kong. One of the most skilful model builders has built most models in our museum.

Open:
September through april all days, 10.00-16.00.

May, June and August, all days, 9.00-17.00. July, all days, 9.00-19.00.

The museum is open at weekends from 14.01 - 31.3, 12:00-16:00. Groups may visit if an advance booking is made no later than Wednesday the same week.
