Åland – part of Schengen

Citizens of the Nordic countries and countries that are signatories to the Schengen Agreement can come to Åland without a passport but should carry an identity card. Citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA should check the position with regard to their visa requirements before entry into Finland or Åland.

For instance, visitors from Russia should obtain a visa from the Finnish consulate in their home country before entry into Finland/Schengen.
