Åland’s camera museum in Kastelholm

This is a small museum with a large content. The collection contains not only cameras but also a large variety of accessories and photographic equipment. The museum is divided into three sections; shop, darkroom and studio.

Special exhibitions, for example the police’s old equipment for taking pictures of convicts. Here’s also the photographic equipment that belonged to Rafael Virtanen, known as the bus driver with a passion for photography.

Opening hours 15.6-31.8:
Tuesdays and Sundays 11.00-17.00
Wednesdays 11.00–19.00.

The museum is located near the old grocery store (Gamla Andelshandeln), next to Birka Skärgårdsbröd and about 200 meters from Jan-Karlsgården.
