Nybonds Ceramics Course Center and Boarding House

Nybonds is a small, country course centre with accommodation facilities located in Tranvik, Sund. The courses are held in what once was, in the beginning of the 19th century, a sailor's homestead.

Nybonds offers comfortable accommodation in an artistic environment.
During your stay it is possible to take part in a variety of different courses and activities. Individuals or small groups are most welcome! Courses must however be booked in advance and in consultation with Solveig Mörn.

The buildings have been carefully and tastefully renovated during the years while the front garden, part of Åland's history, has been preserved as it may have been in the 1700’s.

Accommodation
The boarding house offers 3 rooms and a total of 10 beds.

The kitchen
The kitchen serves home made meals made from both ecologically and locally produced products. The menu is inspired by Åland traditions, something that our guests have always appreciated over the years.

Courses
Nybonds offers many exciting courses during your stay: For example -  pottery, baking, natural dyeing techniques, working with raw wool, watercolour painting, yoga and even offers alternative treatments and massage.

Activities
Horseback riding on Icelandic ponies from the neighbouring farm, different walking trails or guided tours around Åland – the length and destination of these tours is up to the visitor.

Environmental Prize
Nybonds was awarded the “Heritage Award 1997” in recognition of the work done to retain the original charm and atmosphere of the building and grounds. Many of the textiles, porcelain and other household items have been purchased at local auctions and these touches contribute to the special atmosphere.
Nybonds offers good food, comfortable beds with anti-allergy bed linen in beautiful, peaceful surroundings.

Booking
Nybonds is open all year round. Bed & Breakfast is 40 Euro per person per night. Single room costs 80 Euro. Half price for children under 12. Courses booked by arrangement in advance.
