The limited company Posten Åland Ab is owned by the ‘Landskapsregering’, the Government of Åland. The Åland Post is involved in all types of postal business activities and the entailing services.

The activities covered by the Åland Post are divided into four business areas: Åland Post Logistics, Åland Post Packing & Distribution, Åland Post General Services and Åland Post Stamps. Each of the four business areas has a specific business idea and vision for its area of operations. The markets and target groups of the four business areas differ greatly.

Åland Post Logistics operates in three main fields: local transportation of goods within Åland, long-distance transportation of goods to and from other parts of the world and customs clearance. The Logistics division plies Stockholm, Turku and Helsinki with its own fleet of vehicles on a daily basis and cooperates closely with various partners in these destinations to solve the transports outside of Åland.

Åland Post Packing & Distribution targets international companies, which are offered customized production and fulfilment solutions for their large volumes of mail. This business area is divided into units for automated plastic packaging, manual goods packaging, print & enveloping and warehousing.

Åland Post General Services carries out the traditional postal services such as receipt and distribution of letters, parcels and newspapers. Four units form this business area. A large part of its business activities are performed at the Post Terminal, where all parcels and letters are sorted before being distributed to the post offices around Åland.

Åland Post Stamps produces Åland’s very own stamps for postal needs. The stamps are also sold and distributed by mail order to customers around the world.
