Even before the turn of the last century, Mariehamn, with its bathhouses and beaches, was a popular destination for bathers, and at times it was even quite fashionable among the ladies and gentlemen from the big cities. Today it is the Mariebad pool complex that offers wonderful bathing and swimming for big and small.
